Foote's journey involves collecting broken cymbals and analyzing B20 bronze samples from different decades under an electron microscope for metallurgical content. The metallurgical analysis unveils a consistent composition of 80% copper and 20% tin. The filler material, whether copper or B20 bronze, bridges tiny gaps post-initial welding. Metalsmithing techniques align cracked edges and success is found in improving length, location, and item thickness.
